The Master's Call (Poem)

Peter fished the whole night long,
But the fish just wouldn’t bite.
As the sun climbed slowly up the sky
And brought the end of night,
I imagine he was disgusted
And tired of it all.
But just then he heard a voice.
It was the Master’s call.

“What happened Peter? Where’s your catch?
How’d you fare last night?
I know you didn’t fare so well.
But cast your nets to the right.
Same man, same net; just try again.
Put your trust in Me.”
And you should have seen all the fish
That he pulled out of the sea!

So when you get discouraged
And tired of it all,
Same man, same net – just try again.
When you hear the Master’s call.
